Kerry Blue Puckeens are a petite take on Knockatee’s multi–award–winning Kerry Blue — the creamery’s signature raw blue cheese. These hand cut 200g wedges are finished in our iconic red wax, making them perfect single-portion treats or a stylish addition to any cheese board.
One of the few raw blue cheeses made in the Republic of Ireland, handcrafted on the Beara Peninsula. Our award winning blue cheese is ready to eat at three months, when an acid bite gives way to growing creaminess. With further aging it gains strength and becomes slightly crumbly; many aficionados prefer wheels aged over a year. Subtly coloured with annatto and sealed in a distinctive red wax.
Flavour profile: Starts with a bright acidic tang, evolves into a rich, creamy mid-palate, then develops more pronounced blue notes and crumbly texture as it matures.
